ABOUT HELEN
APPROACH & EXPERIENCE
As a highly experienced California licensed therapist, my approach is grounded in psychodynamic, collaborative and culturally-attuned principles that help foster strong therapeutic relationships and informed by evidence-based practices - all of which are key drivers of behavioral change. In collaboration with clients, I use interventions drawn from the highly effective therapeutic models of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy, Gottman Method for Couples Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Positive Psychology and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Over the years I have enjoyed supporting children, teens, adults, seniors, couples and families from diverse backgrounds and cultures going through the range of life challenges described in the therapy introduction. I have also led the creation of mental health services in local organizations and telemental health companies. Along the way, I have also thoroughly enjoyed mentoring associate therapists via clinical supervision and training, helping them develop their professional identity on their journey towards licensure.
I deeply believe that repair and healing can take place at any stage of life, and meet clients where they are to develop the skills needed to reach their life goals. I am an especially good fit for clients who are interested in learning about themselves and ready to make meaningful change.
